Although classes are cancelled at school, we are still continuing with the school year.  As things get sorted out, we will use this blog as the initial source of information for Citadel Park School Physical Education.  The main goal is to have everyone keep healthy by being active and engaging in a variety of physical activities.

Check this blog daily for videos, links, and motivation to Be Active!!

2 Ways You Can Challenge Yourself:

1.  Think about how you feel when we do a Warm-Up at the beginning of class.
Are you breathing faster?  Are you feeling warmer and starting to sweat?
Start your day with an activity outside or inside with running some laps, jumping rope, or jumping on a trampoline.  Exercise gets the body and brain ready for learning.  You will be ready to learn for the day!

2.  Work on fitness
Remember to practice three fitness skills: push ups; bridge; and tree stand.

·                Kindergarten hold the push up position for a count of 10.
·                Grade One and Two students do a total of 10 push ups; you may only rest once.
·                Grade Three and Four do 10 or more push ups without rest.

·                Kindergarten do a bridge for a count of 10.  Rest and do it again.
·                Grade One and Two do a bridge for 45 seconds.
·                Grade Three and Four do a bridge for one minute.

·                Kindergarten do a tree stand for a count of 10.  Rest and do it again.
·                Grade One and Two do a tree stand for one minute.
·                Grade Three and Four do a tree stand for one minute and 30 seconds (1:30).
